Air Duct Cleaning

Air duct in a Longview HomeWant to improve your home’s air quality? Air duct cleaning can do that.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has found that indoor air may be more polluted than outdoor air. Indoor air pollutants can lead to health problems, both immediate and long-term. Because of the amount of time we spend indoors, improving indoor air quality is important. We can help you do this with our air duct cleaning.

When you call ServiceMaster by JTS for air duct cleaning, our process is:

  • Open access ports or doors to allow the entire system to be cleaned and inspected.
  • Use vacuum equipment that exhausts particles outside the home, or we may use High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) vacuuming equipment if the vacuum exhausts inside the home.
  • Protect carpet and household furnishings during cleaning.
  • Use well-controlled brushing of duct surfaces in conjunction with contact vacuum cleaning to dislodge dust and other particles.
  • Use only soft-bristled brushes for fiberglass duct board and sheet metal ducts internally lined with fiberglass. Flex duct can also be cleaned using soft-bristled brushes or an air whip connected to an air compressor.
  • Remove, clean, and reinstall all registers and vents.
  • Take care to protect the duct work, including sealing and re-insulating any access holes the service provider may have made or used so they are airtight.

We recommend getting your ducts cleaned if you have:

  • A newly constructed home.
  • An existing house that has been remodeled or was under construction
  • Purchased a home and don’t know if the ducts have ever been cleaned
  • Lived in your home for more than 10 years and have never had the ducts cleaned

To improve your air quality as well as save in energy costs, call ServiceMaster by JTS today.
